Osun 2022: Governorship Election Monitoring, Live Updates And Results
Today is the D-day to for the Election to elect the Governor for the next 4 years of the State of Osun.
The Election starts by 8:30am today, Saturday 16th July 2022.

Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Saturday’s Osun State governorship election, won in his polling unit, Ward 02, Unit 09, Ede North Local Government Area, where.
INEC ad-hoc staff, after counting of votes, declared the PDP candidate the winner of the poll, having polled 218 votes at the unit to defeat the incumbent governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 23.

Accreditation of voters began early in most polling units for Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.
Vanguard correspondents who monitored the exercise reports that the accreditation process commenced at about 8:00 am in some of the wards visited across the state.

PHOTOS: Police In Show Of Force Ahead Of Osun Governorship Election
Personnel of the Nigeria Police on Friday held a show of force exercise ahead of the Osun State governorship election.
The colourful display by the security operatives came barely 24 hours before the election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While sirens blare intermittently on the streets, police vans conveying security operatives on election duty were sighted at different locations.
The 21,000 personnel deployed for the election comprise operatives of the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, and Marine Police, among others.
In a bid to ensure adequate security of the process and the electorate, especially in the coastal areas, the force headquarters also deployed three helicopters and three gunboats.
